Boodles serves up glamorous tennis fundraiser for Seashell

Seashell Trust students netted a fantastic result at the glamorous Boodles Tennis at the Mere tournament.

Top players served up some ace tennis action in the beautiful sunshine at the society fundraiser on the courts at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, near Knutsford.

The three-day event, featuring international stars Kim Clijisters, Marion Bartoli, Goran Ivanisevic, Richard Krajicek and Xavier Malisse, raised £10,000 for Seashell Trust.

Stockport firm Starkey Hearing Technologies has donated £750 to Seashell Trust.

We care for and educates children and young people with complex learning disabilities and communication difficulties from across the UK, many of whom are deaf or have auditory issues.

The Hazel Grove hearing aid manufacturer has chosen us as its charity of the year.

Seashell Trust guests had a wonderful time at its Alice in Wonderland-inspired spring ball.

The 250 partygoers at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate raised £54,000 to support the our student.

Jo Barber, fundraiser at Seashell, said: “On behalf of everyone at Seashell Trust, I’d like to thank everyone who joined us at the ball for a fabulous evening of fundraising for a great cause, and we look forward to welcoming everyone again next year.”

Seashell Trust's Sherann Hillman has received her MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

It was announced Sherann, who is head of Seashell's Family Services, had been honoured in the Queen's New Year's list for her services to children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Gander builds relationships between the business community and colleges in Stockport. It gives the workforce of the future an insight, or 'gander' into their business and employers are supporting the future of Stockport and its economy. Students benefit from seeing and hearing about the wide range of local industries and the opportunities they can provide.

Lewis Smith, a pupil at The Ryleys prep school in Alderley Edge, took part a sponsored spelling test and nominated Seashell Trust as his chosen charity.

His way with words garnered a fanstastic £40.

Pinarello cyclists conquer Mont Ventoux for Seashell

Sambro’s Nikki Samuels, Bobby Arora, owner of B&M, Simon Showman from Ultimate Products and Naresh Abrol from Union Property, dubbed the Pinarello Bikers, cycled just over 365 miles last week over 5 days in the Provence region of France which included a total elevation gain over those 5 days of just over 25500 ft (8700 meters) taking in the breath-taking 14 mile climb of the infamous Mont Ventoux to support the Seashell Trust’s Transforming Lives Appeal.

We are on our marks for North West Games with Natspec

Seashell Trust's annual inter-special college sports day is going for gold with disabled students from across the region.

This year it has become the North West Games and it is being held in partnership with Natspec (National Association of Specialist Colleges)

The games, started by Seashell Trust in 2010 with a handful of participants, has grown into a regional event with 180 students from 13 special colleges across the North West.

The Macclesfield Beer Festival is toasting its 'the best year ever'.

The annual event, held at Macclesfield Rugby Club and supported by Macclesfield Round Table and CAMRA, served pints to more than 4,000 visitors this weekend.

And it was all for a good cause: us!

The money raised from all the pints supped is going towards a pavilion and outdoor area for our students to enjoy.

Ben Whiteley, from Macclesfield Round Table, said 115 volunteers donated their time.

Swim, bike, run in our GO TRI Seashell Triathlon

British Triathlon is backing our GO TRI Seashell triathlon for children with learning difficulties and additional special needs.

As well as a GO TRI Seashell triathlon for anyone aged 14 and above who needs individual support to take part, there will be a GO TRI Seashell duathlon for children aged eight-14.

The distances to be run, cycled and swum at our Cheadle Hulme campus will be individually assessed for each participant.

Ashfield Healthcare Communications is taking on 'Rest of the (healthcare communications) World' teams at Macclesfield Rugby Club, Thursday, May 4 at 5pm.

The communications company, which has offices in Macclesfield and Tytherington, has made raising funds and awareness for Seashell Trust their goal.
