Generous bakers rolled up their sleeves and raised some dough for Seashell Trust.

Caremark, a local home care provider in Handforth, held a cake sale as part of a recruitment day.

They made £100 selling baked treats at The Paddock, Handforth.

Trans-Canada cyclist promises to go naked if he hits £1,000

A cyclist is planning to ride across Canada to raise £1,000 for Seashell Trust – and has promised to do a day in the saddle naked if he hits his target before the end of the adventure.

Jamie Rose, from Davenport, Stockport, along with schoolfriend Lewis Brindley from Offerton, is planning to cycle over 4,000 miles along the Trans-Canada Highway which runs through southern Canada in aid of Seashell Trust.

Burns Night celebration serves up £2,000 for Seashell Trust

A Burns Night supper at Emmanuel Church Hall in Didsbury raised £2,000.

Some 75 guests enjoyed a night of Scottish traditions in aid of Seashell Trust

Co-organiser Fiona Armstrong Hall, of Pine Road, Didsbury, said: “Several guests were in kilts, all were wearing some tartan. Gerry Montgomery addressed the haggis - without notes! It was fabulous. We also had brilliant speeches from Dave Bott - toast to the lassies, Jill Rennison gave reply from the lassies and the toast to the immortal memory came from Dr Sue Hyde.”

Ryan scores dream work experience at Manchester City

A football fan with learning disabilities from the Seashell Trust has been given a shot at working for MCFC's City in the Community – with the long-term goal of finding employment and independence.

The Premier League side has signed 21-year-old Royal College Manchester student Ryan Doxey on a work placement for four months through City in the Community (CITC).

Brian Hill finally reaches the finish line at Trekfest

Dad's 12-hour trek raises £2,500

A dad trekked for 12 hours to raise money for a charity that helps his disabled daughter.


Brian Hill, from Mereside Gardens, Whaley Bridge, took part in the annual Trekfest, completing the 27-mile course through the Peak District in under 12 hours. The challenging route took in the Pennine Way and Kinder Scout.


He will split the £2500 raised between Seashell Trust and Blythe House Hospice.

Seashell students visit Number 10 for prime minister's Christmas party

Seashell Trust students partied with the prime minister at Number 10 Downing Street.

Cayman and Reims Norton, Harrison Linley Jones, Scarlett Hickey, Sara Asif, Gethin Plant, Shauna Miller, Daniel Hall and Sofia Gawlyk attended a very special celebration with their families and teachers.

It is the fourth year David Cameron has hosted a Christmas party for young people at his official residence.

The Manchester United legend met our staff and students.


Some of the students have such complex difficulties they did not go home for the holidays. Hard-working staff made sure they didn't miss out on any of the festive fun.

All the students at Seashell Trust wanted for Christmas was a new bike.


But it is not just any bike and these aren't just any students.


Many find it hard to get around independently, which is why bikes are so important to them. Not only can they travel around more easily but it great for keeping fit and improves balance and co-ordination.
